Josh Mason is a 6’4, 170lb. point guard who just finished up his sophomore season at the State College of Florida. Mason has length and athleticism that you don’t see every day in a PG/SG prospect. He has a 6’11 wing span and a 40 inch vertical. He is excellent at getting out in transition and distributing or finishing above the rim. His size and skill set allow him to shift to the wing without any problems. On the defensive end, Mason can guard multiple positions and get in the passing lanes. He is an excellent fit for any program that is in need of a long athletic point guard who can shift to the wing when needed. He does a little bit of everything and fills the stat sheet up.
Mason is originally from Minneapolis, MN (Roosevelt, HS). He averaged 12ppg, 7apg and 6rpg this season at State College of Florida. He was a 1st team All Suncoast Conference Selection and was impressive in the FCCAA All Star Game in Tallahassee. I spoke with Mason and he said he is on track to graduate from State College in May. He has received interest from Jacksonville St., Canisius, Texas Southern, FAMU, North Dakota St., Sam Houston State, Austin Peay, and Portland State. Mason is still wide open.
