Cinmeon Bowers, a 6-7 forward out of Chipola College, has given a commitment to Florida State after taking an official visit this past weekend. Bowers has already visited Memphis and was planning on visiting Louisville, but chose to commit to Leonard Hamilton and company. Hamilton was at Chipola on Monday, which was the first day college coaches could be on high school and junior college campuses to evaluate potential prospects, to watch Bowers work out.
Bowers averaged 11 points and 7 rebounds last season as a freshman at Chipola. He is one of the best JUCO players in the country and is in the mix for the top spot in our 2014 JucoRecruiting.com Top 100 players rankings, which will be released during the early portion of the regular season. Bowers is an extremely strong and aggressive forward who is very skilled around the rim. He has the ability to step away from the basket and knock down jump shots as well. Bowers is one of the toughest and most physical players that I’ve seen in years and has the ability to control the glass on both ends. Florida State has picked up a major difference maker in Bowers.
