Buzz Williams and his staff have blanketed the country looking for junior college prospects and have either offered or are showing strong interest in a handful of the top uncommitted 2015 prospects.

Virginia Tech was in most recently to take a look at Midland forward Torren Jones. Jones is a strong and active 6’9 four man who transferred in to Midland from Missouri. He has offers from Colorado and West Virginia already, but seems to be taking his time with the process.  Jones most likely won’t take any visits until the season is over, which will be early to mid March. He is averaging 18.5 points and 11.1 rebounds per game this season.

Virginia Tech was one of the first high major programs to get involved with and offer Bryce Jones of Jones County JC. He has picked up plenty of interest since the Hokies got involved. He has recent interest from Florida State, Baylor, Ole Miss and more. Jones is a very good point guard who is one of the best ones remaining in the 2015 class. Jones helped guide Jones County JC to an NJCAA D1 National Championship last season and has led them to a 13-0 record so far this season. He is a winner who controls the game very well and takes care of the ball.

The Hokies also offered Midland College guard Maurice O’Field over the summer and have been keeping an eye on him throughout the year. O’Field is a very intriguing prospect due to the fact that he will have three years of eligibility to play at the next level. He is a major athlete who has a very good frame and a developing jumper. O’Field is averaging 16.5 points and 5.5 rebounds per game this season.

Virginia Tech also offered Jeremiah Worthem earlier in the season, and it’s not clear if that offer is still out. Worthem is a 6’6 forward at Indian Hills CC who transferred in from Robert Morris. He is averaging 10 points per game this year for IHCC.
