Southern Idaho forward nearing decision

College of Southern Idaho’s Ray Kasongo seems to have his mind set on four schools that he is strongly considering. Kasongo, a 6’10 forward/center, is one of the top available big men in the 2015 class and will have three years of eligibility at the next level.  He averaged 6 points and 5 rebounds per game this season and looked very good at the end of the season. He has improved since early in the year and with a good frame, solid hands and good athletic ability it is obvious why so many high-majors are pursuing him.

Many high-major programs have made their way to Twin Falls, Idaho recently to watch Kasongo workout. Mississippi State’s new head coach, Ben Howland, flew to CSI to watch Kasongo workout and offered him on the spot. Howland and his staff have been able to make up for lost time by showing Kasongo a ton of interest in a short period of time. Kasongo has set up an official visit to Mississippi State on April 17, which will be his first official visit.

Along with Mississippi State, Kasongo is also considering Ole Miss, LSU and UNLV. Ole Miss head coach, Andy Kennedy, watched Kasongo this week and LSU had an assistant in to see him. UNLV has been recruiting Kasongo heavily for several months as well.  He plans on setting up additional official visits in April and making a decision this month as well.
