Two more JUCO prospects came off the board this weekend. Hutchinson CC forward, Deshawn Freeman, gave a verbal commitment to Rutgers and Saddleback College center, Conor Clifford, committed to and signed with Washington State.

Freeman, a 6’7 forward, committed to Rutgers early this morning. He is an active four man who has excellent timing and has a knack for rebounding the ball. He is very good in transition and is at his best when facing up in the low and mid post. Freeman is skilled for his size and could create matchup problems for bigger/slower defenders in the Big 10. He averaged 16 points and 6 rebounds per game this season while shooting 56% from the field. Freeman has had interest and offers across the board and recently visited Virginia Tech before deciding to commit to Rutgers.

Conor Clifford, a 7’0 center, committed to and signed with Washington State this weekend. Clifford will bring a legitimate low post presence, and has very good hands and feet. He has the size and strength to handle the physical play in the low post and can score over either shoulder. He averaged 14.7 points and 6 rebounds per game this season while shooting 62% from the field. Clifford also helped guide Saddleback to a California JC State Championship.
