Maurice O’Field, a 6’5 wing from Midland College with three years to play, officially de-committed from Buffalo and set up an official visit to Arizona State for this weekend. O’Field committed to Buffalo when Bobby Hurley was still at the helm, and with Hurley’s departure to Arizona State it was expected that O’Field would follow him to Tempe.

O’Field said that one of things he was most impressed with at Buffalo was Hurley’s ability to develop perimeter players. O’Field is a strong and ultra-athletic wing who is excellent in transition and when attacking the rim. He can defend multiple spots and rebounds the ball well on both ends. He needs to improve his jumper from beyond the three-point line, but O’Field feels that Hurley is the right guy to help him reach his maximum potential.

O’Field averaged 15.8 points and 5 rebounds per game this season while shooting 50% from the field. I would expect him to commit while on his official visit this weekend.

If ASU can land O’Field, they will have arguably the strongest JUCO recruiting class in 2015. They already have two high-level JUCO players signed in Andre Spight (South Plains) and Obinna Oleka. All three players are ranked in  the latest 2015 JucoRecruiting.com Top 100 Player Rankings
