We will break down many of the top 2015 division one junior college recruiting classes over the next several weeks. Some D1 programs rely heavily on JUCO transfers, while others may only pick up one every few years.

Today we will take a look at Oregon’s JC recruiting class, which features one of the top junior college players in the country in the 2015 class. Chris Boucher committed to Oregon recently and is currently ranked as the #3 player in our www.JucoRecruiting.com 2015 Top 100 Player Rankings. Our final 2015 rankings will be released in June.

Boucher, a skilled 6’10 forward, had an excellent year and was named NJCAA D1 National Player of the Year. Boucher can do it all on both ends and had numerous triple doubles this season (points, rebounds, blocks). He is extremely long and active on the defensive end and has excellent timing.

On the offensive end, he can stretch the floor with his ability to shoot the three and also does a nice a job of attacking the rim from the low, mid and high post. Boucher averaged 22.5 points, 11.8 rebounds and nearly 4 blocks per game. He shot 58% from the field and 44.4% from the three-point line.  He will need to add some size and strength to be able to handle the daily grind of the NCAA D1 (high-major level). That is his main weakness at this point, but he should be able to pick up some weight once arriving at Oregon.

Boucher is extremely mobile for his size and will be very good in an up-tempo system. He will create plenty of mismatches when bigger, slower four-men have to defend him on the perimeter and in transition. Boucher does an excellent job of attacking the rim from the high-post and form the perimeter. He has a long/quick first step for his size and stretches the floor very well with his shooting ability.

Oregon added a difference maker in Boucher as long as he continues to develop his body and add weight to his long/lean frame.  Regardless of his size next season, he will still should be a very productive player in the Pac 12.
