Deandre Turner, a 6'3 guard from Broward College, gave a verbal commitment to Iona today. He is one of the top scorers in JC basketball and is averaging 21 points per game this season (18th in NJCAA D1).

Turner does a nice job of using his size and strength to get to the rim and score through contact. He can score in bunches and mixes it up well offensively. He should fit in well at Iona with their uptempo style of play. Turner is shooting 44% from the field and 40% from the three point line. Broward is currently 10-7 this season and plays at Palm Beach State tomorrow.
