Joseph Uchebo, a 6-11 center out of Chipola College in Florida, signed a National Letter of Intent with Pitt yesterday. Uchebo was the best unsigned JC post player in the 2013 class. His recruitment didn’t pick up until late in the year because he sat out this season with an injury. Uchebo averaged 13 points and 13 rebounds per game last season as a freshman at Chipola and will have three years of eligibility remaining at Pitt due to sitting out this season with and injury. Uchebo signed with N.C. State out of high school, but failed to qualify. If healthy, Ucehbo could be one of the best JC transfers to come out of the 2013 class.
Kerry Carter, a 6-2 wing out of Citrus College in California, committed to St. Mary’s late last night. Carter is a very athletic scoring wing who gets to the rim at will. Carter averaged 17 points per game this season.
Orlando Coleman, a 6-5 guard from Alabama Southern CC, committed to Kennesaw State after taking a visit to the school last weekend. Coleman averaged 18 points and 11 rebounds per game this season and will have three years of eligibility remaining.
UCF has landed a commitment from 2014 JUCO forward Javonte Douglas. Douglas spent his freshman year at Hill College in Texas where he averaged 16 points and 5 rebounds per game. Douglas will spend his sophomore year of JC at defending NJCAA D1 National Champ College of Central of Florida.
