MJ Rice will suit up for Cape Fear CC during the 2025–26 season after sitting out last year. The 6'5" wing began his college career at Kansas, where he appeared in 23 games and averaged 2.2 points per game. He then transferred to NC State for the 2023–24 season, playing in nine games before taking a redshirt year.
Rice was highly regarded coming out of high school, where he was a consensus Top-100 recruit. He earned five-star status from Rivals.com and was rated as a four-star prospect by both ESPN and 247Sports.
Cape Fear is scheduled to compete in the All-American Jamboree in Orlando from October 10–12.
