It's early in the week and we have already had two quality players come off the board and commit. Vince Cole (Pictured Above) of USC Salkehatchie committed to St Johns on Sunday after visiting and Markise Davis of Wallace State committed to Arkansas State after visiting on Monday. Coaching staffs from both schools did a get job of recruiting these guys early and getting these guys on campus.

Vince Cole is a potential top 10-15 player in JUCO this season. At 6'5 (Almost 6'6), Cole has a knack for scoring the ball and possesses a quality jumper with range. He excels in the open court and can create off the bounce for himself. He has the potential to play the PG position at times as he continues to develop his ballhandling and decision making. USC Salk Head Coach Jake Williams had this to say about Cole and his committment, "Vince scores it from all 3 levels, he has deep range on his jumper and can shoot off the bounce, as well as catch and shoot situations. He is turning into a great ballhandler, he has good vision and feel for the game. He can play the PG, SG, and Wing positions and create from all 3. He has long arms and can be one heck of defender. I've always loved his upside with his ability to play PG and we are just starting to see his potential. His experience, confidence and playmaking abilities as well as his length, athleticism should fit well in Mike Anderson's system of play. We couldn't be happier for Vince and his future at St Johns."

6'7 Wing Markise Davis of Wallace State

6'7 Markise Davis of Wallace State performed extremely well in the June/July recruiting events. After limited playing time (Due to Injury) as a freshman, Davis stayed in the gym, kept working and it showed. Davis is a athletic, versatile wing that can play the SF and PF positions. He can really stretch the floor with his shooting ability and is a great rebounder. Davis his a lot of upside in his game, he can handle like a guard and defend the 1-4. Davis is a great early pick up for Arkansas State. Wallace State Head Coach Collin Dimitroff has this to say about Davis, "Arkansas State is getting a great person first of all, outstanding basketball player with a ton of potential second. He's an athletic wing, big threat from behind the arc and is continuing to build on other aspects of his game including scoring in the mid post and really guarding the ball"

JucoRecruiting.com spoke with Markise and this what he had to say about his commitment, "The reason I chose Arkansas State is the atmosphere and energy of the campus which I really enjoyed. All of the coaches push the players to be successful academically and as a player. Its a very positive environment and full of smiles. Coach Balado is an outstanding coach and Coach Scoot (Assistant Mike Scutero) has been recruiting me since the beginning of summer and we have a great bond throughout the recruiting process. The facilities were outstanding and campus is wonderful. When I watched the guys workout, it was a very high level practice and I could see myself fitting in everything next fall and the team so that's why I chose Arkansas State."
