Ahmad Rand of USC Salkehatchie is one of the most active and productive forwards in the country. As a freshman last season, he averaged 9.8 ppg and 8.2 rpg while shooting 64% from the field. The 6'8 PF also led the country in blocks with 4.3 bpg. Look for him to do more of the same this season. He has a constant motor and works relentlessly for rebounds. His production and athleticism make him attractive to coaches all over the country.
USC Salkehatchie HC Jake Williams had this to say about Rand "Ahmad is one of the most athletic forwards in the country who led the NJCAA in blocked shots as a freshman last year. He changes the complexion of the game with his rim protection. He rebounds and defends at a high level and finishes everything above the rim. He knows his role on the court and embraces it. He is phenomenal kid and great teammate. He has tons of upside with his skillset and very high ceiling."
Rand is hearing from Oregon State, St Johns, VA Tech, VCU, Tulsa, Cincinnati and several others. Rand is focused on the season and his academics right now and will take visits after the season.
USC Salkehatchie opens up the season this weekend against Georgia Highlands on Friday, November 1 and South Georgia Tech on Saturday, November 2.
