JUCO Transfers To Watch In 20-21 - Part 1

Last season, over 350 Junior College players signed D1 scholarships. Junior College players bring with them experience, toughness, and the ability to produce right away. We have talked with hundreds of coaches over the last couple of weeks and look forward to seeing all the JUCO products playing at all levels. With the season starting tomorrow, JucoRecruiting.com looks at several JUCO Transfers to Watch in 20-21 season. Many of these players will be expected starters or rotation players to start the season. 

6’7 G Russell Harrison (Pictured) of Louisiana Monroe – Harrison was a Top 10 JUCO player coming out in 2020. The former Clarendon College player should have immediate impact for Louisiana Monroe. Last season, he averaged 18.3 ppg and 8.2 rpg while shooting 42% from 3 (6.2 attempts/game). He is tough matchup every night with his size, skill and shooting ability

6’2 G Chris Childs of Bryant – Childs was one of the best shooters in the country last year for Indian Hills CC. Last season, he helped his team to a 30-3 record while averaging 15 ppg and shooting 45% from 3. His experience and shooting ability should translate well for Bryant this season

6’5 G Deandre Gholston of Milwaukee – Gholston started his career at Kent State before transferring to Tallahassee CC for his sophomore season. Last season he averaged 11.3 ppg and 5.2 rpg on a deep and talented roster. He brings versatility and toughness to Milwaukee. Gholston is great rebounder and slasher  

6’7 F Clarence Jackson & 6’2 G Craig Porter of Wichita State – Jackson and Porter are the epitome of versatile players that can affect the game on both ends of the floor. Porter won a National Championship at Vincennes as a freshman and played both guard positions. Last season, he averaged 14.8 ppg, 7.7 rpg, 6.9 ap and 1.9 bpg. Jackson was a Qualifier at Polk State last season and averaged 13.3 ppg and 8.2 rpg. Jackson can play inside and out and will guard multiple positions

6’3 PG Demarcus Sharp of Missouri State – Sharp was an NJCAA All American last season for Colby CC and is confident playmaker with the ball in his hands. Sharp averaged 16.5 ppg, 5.6 apg and 4.7 rpg while shooting 44% from 3. Sharp can really pass the ball and create for teammates

6’1 PG Jalen Finch of Jacksonville State – Lefty from FL Southwestern is a true PG that can run the show and create for teammates. He helped FSW to a 59-5 record during his two seasons there. Last season he averaged 9.9 ppg and 5.1 apg. Expect him to bring leadership and playmaking to a Jacksonville State team that has talented lineup
