Lee Moore of Wallace State and Emmanuel Omogbo of South Plains make their choice

As we approach the November signing period many JC players are beginning to decide whether they will decide on a school this fall, or wait until the spring and see what options open up throughout the season. Two players decided this weekend that they found the right program for the final two years of their college basketball careers.

Lee Moore, a 6’4 combo guard (2015 class) at Wallace State, gave a verbal commitment to UTEP last night after taking an official visit two weeks ago. Moore is a an athletic guard who can score in multiple ways. He does an excellent job of using is length and athleticism to get in the lane and finish above the rim, he also has the ability to knock down mid-range jumpers off the dribble as well as threes off the catch and dribble. Moore had an excellent freshman year where he averaged 18 points and 7.2 rebounds per game while shooting 57% from the field and 33% from the three point line, while leading Wallace State to an NJCAA D1 National Tournament appearance. Moore spent most of last season at the shooting guard spot, but will shift over and play some point this year. He sees the floor very well and his combination of size, quickness and athleticism will allow him to excel on both ends at the 1 or 2 spot. Moore had interest from plenty of mid and high major programs including NC State, Clemson and many more. He is an impact player at the next level and should be able to produce immediately at UTEP. Look for Moore to put up big numbers this year.

Emmanuel Omogbo, a 6’8 forward (2015 class) at South Plains College, committed to Colorado State while on an official visit this weekend. Colorado State has done a very good job over the past few years in singing junior college and four-year transfers and have another good one coming in Omogbo. He is an extremely active four-man with a big-time motor. Ombogbo is a good athlete who hits the glass hard on both ends and can finish through contact around the rim. As a freshman he averaged 7.5 points and 4.3 rebounds per game while shooting 57.5% from the field.
