Oregon transfer Dominic Artis will not play this season, but will attend classes, workouts and practice at Diablo Valley College in California. By sitting this year, Artis will keep his remaining two years of eligibility and will be able to transfer back to the Division 1 level as long as meets all of the NCAA requirements for junior college transfers. He will have to transfer his credit hours from Oregon into Diablo Valley and will basically be deemed as a junior college transfer. He will have to meet GPA and credit hour requirements like any other JC transfer.

Artis was a Top 100 recruit out of high school (2012 class) and was ranked as the 52nd best player in the country according to 247Sports Composite Recruiting Rankings.  Artis had offers from Kansas and Memphis along with many other high major programs out of high school.

As a sophomore at Oregon he averaged 4.4 points and 2.1 assists per game while playing nearly 17 minutes per night.  Diablo Valley is only 30 miles from San Francisco, which is Artis’ home town.  Cal and St. Mary’s have already inquired about him, look for plenty of mid and high major programs to recruit Artis as the season progresses.
