Rozelle Nix, a 7’0 center at Pensacola JC, announced that he will be playing his final two years of college basketball at Pitt. Nix visited Pitt over the weekend and it didn’t take him long to decide that is where he wanted to be. He picked the Panthers over South Carolina and Loyola Marymount.

Since arriving at Pensacola, Nix has done an excellent job of changing his body and developing his game. He arrived weighing 389 pounds and is now down to 309. He plays extremely hard and takes up space in the paint. Nix has the ability to score with his back to the basket and works at it on the glass.

Nix discussed his commitment with JucoRecruiting.com. He said “I want to get better as a player as well as a person, and it’s four hours away from my hometown of Cincinnati, so my family can come watch me play.” Nix has aspirations to play professionally after finishing up at Pitt. He said “I want to play professional basketball after school, and Coach Dixon and the coaching staff can help me achieve my goal.”

Birt of South Plains is headed to Tulsa

Pat Birt, a 6’5 wing at South Plains College, gave a verbal commitment to Frank Haith and Tulsa after taking an official visit over the weekend. Birt transferred in to South Plains from UIC where he averaged 6.3 ppg and was on the Horizon Conference All-Freshman Team.
