Here’s what has been going on in the JUCO basketball world over the last week. Waverly Austin has left the University of South Florida due to not meeting the academic requirements at the institution. Per Jeff Goodman of CBS, Austin is all set to enroll at the University of Oregon and play this season for the Ducks. We reported earlier in the week that the chances were good that Austin would end up at Oregon.

There are several high-level JUCO prospects who will be taking visits this weekend. Chris Jones of NW Florida State will take his first of five official visits to Baylor. As we first reported, Jones will also visit Louisville, Florida State, Oklahoma State and Kansas. Memphis is still in the mix with Jones as well.

Oklahoma State has done an excellent job of recruiting JUCO prospects so far this season and they have two good ones coming in this weekend. Chad Frazier (pictured), a 6-4 guard out of Gulf Coast State College, will be on campus this weekend for an official visit. Frazier has interest from plenty of mid and high majors across  the board. Look for him to visit Washington State as well in the near future. OK State also has JUCO big man Keshaun Hamilton coming on campus this weekend. Hamilton is at Labette CC in Kansas for his sophomore year after transferring in from Santa Fe College in Florida. Hamilton had a nagging injury all summer so he didn’t play in any July events which caused him to fly under the radar a bit. The 6-10/270 pound lefty has tons of potential and has a chance to be one of the better post players in the country this season.
