Rick Ray and his new staff at Mississippi State are adding size and experience to their 2013 recruiting class by adding two quality junior college post players. Mississippi recently received a verbal commitment from 6-8 forward Travis Daniels of Shelton State CC (AL). Daniels is more of a three man or face up four. He has the ability to score from the perimeter off the dribble and post up smaller defenders and finish around the rim. Daniels, who had a very good showing at the All-American JUCO Showcase in July, has a solid stroke and passes the ball very well.
After locking up Daniels Miss. St. the received a commitment from Quantel Denson of Mineral Area CC. Denson played last season at Hutchinson CC and gave Missouri a verbal commitment before running into some trouble. He averaged 7 points per game last season. Denson is more of a true low post player who can score with his back to the basket.
