Many JUCO sophomores (2013 class) have seen their recruitment pick up of late, which is normal for this time of year when schools begin to make a strong push to get commitments before the April signing period. Most players will take their visits after the season before making a decision. Here is a look at the latest junior college basketball recruiting news:

South Carolina watched Elgin Cook (6-6/SF/2013) of NW Florida State on Wednesday. Here is a detailed look at Cook’s recruitment.

Georgia and Rutgers were at Vincennes on Thursday to take a look at 2013’s Deshawn Delaney (6-5/G) and Darius Carter (6-7/F).

Bobby Hunter (5’11/PG/2013) is currently leading the country in scoring at 24.8 points per game. Hunter recently picked up an offer from Iona. He also has strong interest from Evansville and Murray State.

Canisius has offered Jeremiah Williams of Vincennes. Williams is a 5’11 point guard.

Dre Mathieu (5-9/PG/2013), a Morehead State transfer currently at Central Arizona,  now has offers from Tennessee Tech, UT – San Antonio, Stephen F. Austin, Northern Arizona, Albany and Northern Colorado. Mathieu is having a great year averaging 18 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists per game.
