Cal State Northridge received a commitment from Steve Thornton of Citrus College. Thornton will be a member of their 2013 recruiting class and will make it official during the NCAA signing period in April. Northridge is getting a steal with Thornton. He is a wing with a great frame who is averaging 17 points, 4.3 rebounds, 1.5 steals, 2 assists and 2 blocks per game this season. He is in the top 10 in the state of California in scoring, steals and blocks.

Thornton had a very good showing and made the Top 20 All Star Game at the All-American JUCO Showcase Elite 80 West this summer in Las Vegas. He spent his freshman year at Utah State before transferring  to Citrus. Thornton scores the ball multiple ways and can guard several positions on the perimeter. His strength and scoring ability should make his transition back to the D1 level a smooth one.

Thornton also had interest from Santa Clara, San Francisco, Utah Valley, Cal State Fullerton and UC Santa Barbara.
