Owens CC in Toledo, OH has three players that have seen their recruitment steadily climb as the season has progressed. Owens is 21-8 on the season and 10-2 in the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference (OCCAC). James Kelly (6’8/F), Joe Retic II (6-3/PG) and Justin Edmonds (6’4/G), who has injured half-way through the year, all averaged double figures and have led Owens CC to a twenty win season and are looking to make a run in the regional tournament.

James Kelly has been heavily recruited all year. The skilled forward has had more than thirty mid and high major schools in to see him this season. He has narrowed his list down a bit, but is still open. He has offers from Miami (FL) and New Mexico that he is strongly considering. He also has strong interest from Michigan State and Marshall. Xavier, Temple and Houston have also been in to see him recently as well. Right now Miami (FL) is his leader, but he will continue to look at all options until the season ends. Kelly is averaging 18.4 points and 10.5 rebounds per game this year.

Although Justin Edmonds was injured, his recruitment is still going strong as he continues to rehab. Edmonds was averaging 18 points per game through fifteen games. He visited Marshall recently and has narrowed it down to Marshall and Wright State. Kent State is also still in the mix with him, but the other two are his leaders.

Joe Retic II has picked up a lot of interest during the second half of the season. Retic is a freshman who was a qualifier out of Fishers High School in Fishers, IN. Retic has the option of leaving with three years of eligibility or coming back to Owens next season to play his sophomore year. He has strong interest from Bowling Green, IPFW, Univ. of Illinois Chicago and  IUPUI. Retic is averaging 10.6 points, 5 assists and 2.5 rebounds per game this season.
