Deville Smith of SW Mississippi CC has given a verbal commitment to UNLV while on an official visit. He began his career at Mississippi State and spent this season at SW Miss CC. He averaged 16 points, 5 assists and 3.5 rebounds per game this season.

Smith was being heavily recruited throughout the year by many mid and high major programs. Baylor, West Virginia, Purdue, Depaul, UCF, South Carolina and Creighton were are all recruiting him up until his commitment.

Smith is now the second JUCO transfer to commit to UNLV. Jelan Kendrick of Indian Hills (6-6/G) was the first to commit. Dave Rice and his staff are getting a very good duo from the JUCO ranks.
