Mike Anderson, a 6-5 small forward at Moberly Area CC, has given a verbal commitment to play for Lorenzo Romar and the Washington Huskies next season per a source. Anderson has had solid interest from D1 schools all season, but has really seen things pick up lately. He helped lead Moberly to the Region 16 Championship Game before suffering a 77-70 loss to Mineral Area CC.

Anderson, a sophomore at Moberly, averaged 16.9 points, 9.8 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game this season while shooting 54.3% from the field and 44.2% from the three point line.

Anderson said his final list before committing was Washington, South Florida, San Francisco and Central Michigan. He also had Creighton, Seton Hall and Utah jump in the mix late.

I asked Anderson why he chose Washington, he said, “I bonded very well with Coach Romar and clicked with him. I also liked the group of guys they had coming back next year.  I like their tempo and their style of play as well.”
