Quality point guards are hard to come by in the 2015 class at both the high school and junior college levels, and another good one has come off the board tonight.

Jovante Spivey, a 5’10 point guard from South Georgia State, has given a verbal commitment to the Citadel a source told JucoRecruiting.com. Spivey is having an excellent year for head coach Cory Baldwin and nationally ranked South Georgia State (19-1/#13 in latest NJCAA D1 poll).

Spivey is averaging 21 points, 3.8 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game and gets to the line more than anyone in the country. He has attempted 210 free throws in 21 games, good for 10 per game. Spivey’s 10 attempts per game average are the highest of any player at the NJCAA D1 level, and he is shooting 78% from the line.
