Many of the top JUCO players in the 2015 class have come off the board recently, but there are several high-level prospects that are still weighing their options. Here we will take a look at some of the top available prospects in the 2015 JC class and look at the schools they are considering.  There are obviously plenty of D1 level available prospects at the JC level, but these are some of the top ones that have been heavily recruited throughout the year.

Brandon Austin – 6’7/G – NW Florida State – Austin helped guide NW Florida State to an NJCAA D1 Men’s Basketball National Championship during the 14-15 season.  Austin is an extremely skilled guard who can play the 1, 2 or 3 spot on the offensive end. This season was his first year on the court, so he does have the option to return to NW FL next season if he doesn’t commit to a D1 program. Austin’s issue with recruitment isn’t on court performance; he’s dealing with issues that happened at Providence and Oregon prior to his arrival. He didn’t have any on or off court issues this season at NW Florida State. The later it gets in the recruiting process for Austin, the more I could foresee him returning for his sophomore year of JC. If he does move on to the D1 level, he would have three years to play.

Chris Boucher – 6’10/F – Northwest College (WY) – Boucher, a skilled 6’10 forward, had an excellent year and was named NJCAA D1 National Player of the Year. Boucher can do it all on both ends and had numerous triple doubles this season (points, rebounds, blocks). He is extremely long and active on the defensive end and has excellent timing. On the offensive end, he can stretch the floor with his ability to shoot the three and also does a nice a job of attacking the rim from the low, mid and high post. Boucher averaged 22.5 points, 11.8 rebounds and nearly 4 blocks per game. He shot 58% from the field and 44.4% from the three-point line. Boucher has visited TCU and Texas Tech and plans on taking official visits to Oregon and Minnesota. These seem to be the final four schools that he is considering.

Ty Outlaw – 6’6/G – Lee College – Outlaw is a D1 transfer from UNC Greensboro where he averaged 6 points and 3 rebounds per game as a true freshman.  This season at Lee College he averaged 21.8 points and 5 rebounds per game while shooting 50% from the field and 43.5% from the three-point line. Outlaw is one of the best shooters in the 2015 JUCO class and is the best shooter left on the board. He has a quick release and the size to get his shot off at the next level.  Outlaw has had heavy interest recently from Oregon, Kansas, Missouri, Arkansas, Virginia Tech and Oklahoma State.  Outlaw recently visited Virginia Tech and has seen Oregon and Kansas turn up the heat of late.

Cullen Russo – 6’9/F – New Mexico JC – Russo is an athletic and skilled forward who is very good in transition/up-tempo settings. He has very good hands and is at his best when facing up in the low and mid post. He isn’t a back to the basket big, but will create matchup problems for bigger/slower defenders. Russo visited Minnesota and was supposed to visit Wichita State, but had to reschedule due to weather. He also visited Fresno State prior to his Minnesota visit. Russo has rescheduled his Wichita State visit for this weekend.

Vladimir Brodziansky – 6’10/F – Pratt CC – Brodziansky is a skilled four man with three years of eligibility remaining at the D1 level.  He averaged 15.3 points and 8.8 rebounds per game. He does a nice job of mixing it up on the offensive end by scoring the ball around the rim and also stretching the floor with his ability to make jumpers. Brodziansky looks to be down to Gonzaga, TCU and Rutgers. He is taking an official visit to Rutgers this weekend and will look to decide as soon as next week.

Ahmed Mohamed (6’9/F/Lee College) is taking a visit to Wichita State. He already visited Washington State, but they seem to be out now after signing Conor Clifford. Wichita is in good shape here for Mohamed.  He averaged 16.2 points and 10 rebounds per game this season.
