New Mexico JC forward, Cullen Russo, committed to Fresno State yesterday. Russo, a 6’9 forward, was down to Fresno and Minnesota before pulling the trigger and making his choice.

He is a mobile and skilled 6’9 forward who is at his best when facing up in the mid and high post. Russo can also attack from the perimeter off the dribble, which can create matchup problems for opponents.  He averaged 11.9 points/6.8 rebounds this season while shooting 51.4% from the field and 35% from the three-point line.  Russo has good size and length and also has a good frame that should help him transition to the physicality of the next level.

Russo, who is ranked in the top 50 of our latest 2015 JucoRecruiting.com Top 100 Player Rankings, had plenty of mid and high major interest/offers throughout the season. He narrowed it down to Fresno State, Minnesota and Wichita State a few weeks ago, but never took a visit to Wichita. Here is a look a the other schools who were recruiting Russo this season.
