Quality point guards are difficult to find, especially PG’s that can score and distribute equally well. Darrion Strong, a 6’1 point guard out of Coffeyville CC, proved last season and this summer that he is one of the top point guards in the 2016 class. As a freshman at Coffeyville, Strong averaged 21.3 points, 3 rebounds, 2.5 assists per game and was named an NJCAA D1 Third Team All-American.

Strong was one of the top performers at the Mullen’s Top 100 Showcase in St. Louis during the first live weekend of July. He has an excellent burst/quick first step and is able to play an extremely fast pace while taking care of the ball. Strong sees the floor very well and always has his head up. He doesn’t waste any dribbles or over penetrate offensively either, which is refreshing to see.

Strong can stop on a dime in transition and pull up or distribute. His ability to quickly change direction/speed makes him very difficult to defend. He has a smooth stroke from the perimeter and can knock down shots off the dribble and off the catch.

Strong has really seen his recruitment heat up over the past few months. Here is a look at his profile with offers and interest: Darrion Strong Recruiting Profile
