NJCAA Top 25 Review: Teams 16-20

With the new NJCAA Poll coming out next week on December 5th, JucoRecruiting.com looks at the Top 25 teams and how they performed thru the first month of the 17-18 season and teams that will be considered in the next Poll.

16.  San Jacinto (6-3)

                San Jacinto has losses to #2 Northwest Florida, Clarendon, and Western Texas.  They have a win over #7 Odessa.  They have four players averaging double digits: Soph G Lamar Hamrick (12.9 ppg), Fr W Kayne Henry (12.6 ppg), Soph G Tay Hardy (12.0 ppg), and Soph G/F Kabir Mohammed (13.1 ppg, Missouri State).  Sophomore Center Jethro Tshisumpa Mbiya is averaging 3.9 blocks per game. 

                Next Game: Navarro on November 29th

17.  Salt Lake (11-0)

                Salt Lake is led by a trio of Sophomores: 6’3 G Bushman Ebet (17.3 ppg), 6’6 G Christian Gray (13.0 ppg), and 6’9 F Kur Kuath (12.9 ppg).  Kur Kuath also leads the team in rebounding (7.3 rpg) and blocks (3.5 bpg).

18.  Georgia Highlands (4-3)

                Georgia Highlands has lost to #9 Motlow State, Walters State, and Cape Fear.  Soph guards Tajuan Johnson and Demarcus Addie lead the team in scoring at 15 points per game while Sophomore forward D’Andre Bernard (East Tennessee State) leads the team in rebounding at 7.4 rebounds per game. 

                Next Game: #9 Motlow State on November 29th

19.  Gillette (10-0)

                Gillette has an impressive 8 players averaging over 10 points per game.  They are averaging 101 points per game and making over 10 3’s a game.  Freshman G Kenny Jackson leads the team in scoring at 15.7 points per game.  Sophomore F Edwin Jeudy leads the team in rebounding at 8.8 rebounds per game and Sophomore G Trent Williams leads the team in assists at 9.3 assists per game. 

                Next Game: United Tribes Tech on December 8th

20.  Iowa Western (8-1)

                Their one loss this year was to Missouri West Plains.  They are led by Soph CG Pat Dembley (Boise State) who is averaging 20.1 points per game and shooting 44% from 3.
