NJCAA Top 25 Review: Teams 6-10

With the new NJCAA Poll coming out next week on December 5th, JucoRecruiting.com looks at the Top 25 teams and how they performed thru the first month of the 17-18 season and teams that will be considered in the next Poll.

6.  Indian Hills (8-0)

                Indian Hills just beat #8 Moberly Area in their latest game.  Indian Hills has 4 players in double digit scoring: 6’4 Soph Shane Gatling (14.4 ppg), 6’2 Soph Antonio Williams (15.3 ppg), 6’5 Fr Thomas Woldetensae (10.5 ppg), and 6’9 Soph Ivan Aurrecoechea (12.5 ppg). 

                Next Game: Missouri West Plains on December 1st

7.  Odessa (10-2)

                Odessa has played the most games of anyone in the Top 25 and averaging 102 ppg.  They have a win over #12 Panola and a loss against #16 San Jacinto.  They have 6 players averaging double digits: 6’5 Soph Kejuan Johnson (11.2 ppg), 6’6 Soph Braxton Shaw (10.2 ppg), 6’7 Soph Jermaine Haley (10.3 ppg), 6’5 Soph Keandre Cook (16.3 ppg), 6’7 Soph Alonzo Walker (10.6 ppg), and 6’5 Fr LJ Figueroa (18.6 ppg).

8.  Moberly Area (9-1)

                Moberly Area’s only loss just came to #6 Indian Hills.  They are led by the guard duo of Soph Randy Miller (15.8 ppg) and Fr Alonzo Verge (13.0 ppg). 

                Next Game: #24 Wabash Valley on December 3rd at St Louis Shootout

9.  Motlow State (6-1)

                Motlow’s only loss this year was to #2 Northwest Florida State on the road.  They beat #18 Georgia Highlands on the road in their first game of the year.  They are lead by the sophomore trio of 6’2 G Isaiah Hart (18.4 ppg), 6’2 G Dillon Smith (12.4 ppg), and 6’6 W Rashawn Fredericks (15.7 ppg).

                Next Game: #18 Georgia Highlands on November 29th

10.  Southern Idaho (7-1)

                Southern Idaho is averaging 104 ppg.  Their only loss of the year was to Western Nebraska.  They beat #22 Arizona Western in their latest game 113-100.  They have 4 players averaging double digits: Soph Danya Kingsby (13.9 ppg, Pitt), Soph Charles Jones (19.4 ppg, Utah), Soph Jake Hendricks (14.5 ppg), and Fr Khalid Thomas (19.8 ppg).
