NJCAA Top 25 Review: Possible Teams That Could Be In Next Top 25 Poll

With the new NJCAA Poll coming out next week on December 5th, JucoRecruiting.com looks at the Top 25 teams and how they performed thru the first month of the 17-18 season and teams that will be considered in the next Poll.

Here are teams that could be in the next Poll:

Connors State (9-0) – 6’3 G Ra’Shawn Langston (South Florida) is averaging 20.3 points per game. 

Howard (9-1) – Only loss was to #22 Arizona Western 63-62.  They also beat Arizona Western in OT 86-85.  6’3 guard Jeremy Hayes is averaging 15.4 points per game. 

Western Texas (8-1) – Has win over #16 San Jacinto and a well balanced team scoring the ball.

Barton (9-0) – 6’5 Freshman guard Kawanise Wilkins is leading the team in both scoring (16.6 ppg) and rebounding (7.8 rpg).

Central Florida (7-1) – Has win over #11 Chipola.  Sophomore Center Carlos Dotson is averaging 13.0 points per game and 9.5 rebounds per game

Gulf Coast State (8-1) – Only loss was to #16 San Jacinto.  Sophomore Wing Will Robinson is averaging 18.3 points per game

Indian River State (9-1) – 6’4 Soph SG Cedric Jackson leads them in scoring at 17.7 points per game, 6’0 Soph PG Anthony Brown leads them in assists at 8.3 assists per game, and Soph C Shaq Rombley leads them in rebounds at 8.1 rebounds per game.

Sheridan (9-1) – 6’4 G Channel Banks is averaging 20.8 points per game and shooting 60% from 3 on 4.4 attempts per game.

Trinidad State (10-1) – Soph G Dominic Coleman is averaging 11.0 points per game and Fr G Trevell Cunningham is averaging 10.2 points per game.

Tyler (9-0) – Soph G TiAndre Jackson leads the team in scoring (14.3 ppg, UT Arlintgon), Soph F Trenton Sandifer leads the team in rebounding (7.2 rpg, Incarnate Word) and Soph PG Brian Warren leads the team in assists (5.9 apg).

Missouri West Plains (10-0) – 6’3 Soph G Ricky Torres is averaging 18.5 points per game and 8.7 assists per game.

State Fair (9-1) – Only loss this year was to #6 Indian Hills 91-89.  Soph G Grant Gelon (Missouri State) leads the team in scoring at 14.5 points per game.

Harcum (5-0) – Harcum is led by the Soph guard duo of Myron Gordon (21.8 ppg) and Tyler Reynolds (20.0 ppg).

Shelton State (7-0) – They have 4 players averaging double figures: Soph G Tre Dodd (10.6 ppg), Soph G Tra’Quan Knight (13.6 ppg), Soph G Jamani Glover (11.4 ppg), and Soph G Charles Norman (14.0 ppg).

Copiah Lincoln (6-0) – Soph G Jonathan Floyd leads the team in scoring at 15.5 points per game and assists at 5.2 assists per game. 

Northeast Mississippi (6-0) – Fr G Denzel McDuffey leads the team in scoring at 15.5 per game.  Fr F Antares Gwyn leads the team in rebounding at 12 rebounds per game. 

Northwest Mississippi (5-0) – Fr G Tremont Robinson leads the team in scoring at 13.4 points per game. 

Southwest Mississippi (7-0) – They are led in scoring by Soph guards Antonio Cowart (15.6 ppg) and Roydell Brown (15.1 ppg).

Shawnee (7-1) – Their only loss this year is against #5 Eastern Florida State.  Soph PG Sayveon McEwen is averaging 23.3 points per game.
