Caleb Coleman is off to a great start this year averaging 18 ppg and 8.2 rpg. Coleman has a unique skillset because of his ability to score inside and out. While he doesn’t shoot may 3’s, he has a great midrange jumper and knack for getting his shot off from midrange. He also can play with his back to the basket posting up smaller guards. Coaches are definitely taking notice. JucoRecruiting.com talked with Coleman recently and here are the highlights.

JucoRecruiting.com: How’s recruiting going for you?

Coleman: It’s going good. I have offers from Coastal Carolina, Texas State, Southern, Louisiana Monroe, Rio Grande Valley and Detroit. I’m getting calls from North Dakota State, Towson, Jacksonville, Oral Roberts, Texas Tech and several others.

JucoRecruiting.com: What are you looking for in a 4 Year Program?

Coleman: A place that needs me to come in and make an impact from the moment I step on campus. A place that’s going to help me develop more into the player I have in my vision of one day becoming. I’m looking for a place that has a winning atmosphere, teammates and coaching staff that are all on the same page, which is to win and get to the NCAA tournament. A school that I can call home and have relationships with everyone after my time there is up.

JucoRecruiting.com: What is your biggest strength?

Coleman: My versatility and my midrange game. I can play multiple positions and defend multiple positions. I can catch and shoot, play with my back to the basket on smaller players, and face up against bigger or slower players on perimeter. I feel like I have a great dribble pullup and the best midrange game in the country.

JucoRecruiting.com: What is your plan for cutting lists and taking visits?

Coleman: I plan on focusing on all of that after the season. I plan on taking all 5 Official visits and taking time with my decision.

Expect Coleman’s recruitment and offers to increase as the season continues. His versatility and midrange game allow him to play for several different programs and styles. Coleman and his State Fair teammates have two tough games this weekend against Motlow State and Highland CC.
