Standouts From The St Louis Shootout

       On December 2nd, St Louis CC hosted the St Louis Shootout which included 4 teams from Region 16 (MO) playing against 4 teams from Region 24 (IL). Here were the standouts:

6’3 CG Darreus Brown (2020), Mineral Area

The lefty CG started slow but showed his ability to knock down shots. Brown is a smooth player that lets the game come to him. He can score off the bounce and is crafty player when he gets in the paint. He finished the game against Lewis & Clark with 17 points, 7 assists, 5 rebounds and 3 steals. He went 5/8 from 3. This season, Brown is averaging 16.1 ppg, 4.3 rpg, 4.1 apg, and 2.3 spg while shooting 41.3% from 3. The freshman will most likely be coming back as a sophomore and will be heavily sought after combo guard.

6’7 G/F Jayden Scrubb (2020), John Logan

This freshman is an absolute stud and one of best freshman in the entire country. Scrubb was all over the court making plays. He made outside shots with ease and finished everything around the rim.  He creates mismatches every time down the court. Against Moberly Area, he finished with 27 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 blocks. He was 9/15 from the field including 3/6 from 3. This season, he is averaging 18.8 ppg and 8.2 rpg while shooting 59.4% from the field and 56% from 3. Scrubb will have several High Majors in pursuit next season.

6’7 G/F Javonte Perkins, Southwestern Illinois (Signed with Saint Louis)

Javonte is an extremely skilled player. He does it all from the wing position. He can get his shot off from all over and always puts pressure on the defense. He creates mismatches with his versatility. Against Three Rivers, he finished with 27 points and 12 rebounds. This season, he is averaging 26.3 ppg and 9.3 rpg while shooting 39.5% from 3.  


Javonte Perkins of Southwestern Illinois

6'4 SG Tristan Jarrett, Three Rivers 

Tristan is a scorer and showed that against Southwestern Illinois. He made deep 3's, midrange jumpers and finished at the rim thru contact. He finished with 37 points, 6 assist and 4 rebounds. This season, he is averaging 27.5 ppg, 7.3 rpg and 5.3 apg. On Tuesday (December 4th), he finished with 44 points and 10 rebounds against John Logan. Tristan has heard from Jacksonville St, Oral Roberts, Valpo, UAB, Texas A&M CC and several others. He is expected to graduate in May.
