The Dodge City Conquistadors are your JucoRecruiting.com Team of The Week for November 20-27, 2022 after a perfect 2-0 record in Jayhawk Conference play during the holiday week.

In a Top 25 battle, the Dodge City men's basketball team knocked off the #6 Coffeyville Red Ravens at home 111-100 in an overtime thriller. The Conqs had their best shooting night of the season shooting 51.4% from the floor and 27-33 from the charity stripe. They used those numbers to overcome Coffeyville's hot shooting night as the Red Ravens shot 54.1% from the floor but were just 22-38 from the free-throw line. The win was the 6th in a row for Coach Brad Witherspoon’s first team at DCCC, with their only loss coming on a road overtime contest at #1 Indian Hills to begin the year.  Guard Jason Edwards poured in 37 points and connected on 5 of 10 3pt shots.  Hutch transfer Chris Robinson tallied 23 pts, connecting on 4 of 6 shots from downtown.  Freshman forward Jacobi Seabock scored 22 pts and hauled in 10 rebounds in the mild upset.

DCCC followed up their home win over Coffeyville with a hard-fought victory at Jayhawk rival Seward County on Saturday. Continuing the hot shooting theme, the Conqs shot a season-best 55.6% from the floor.  Guard DJ Jones & Cam Malray tied with 17 pts to lead Dodge in the scoring column on the road.  The win takes Dodge City to 3-0 in Jayhawk play, firmly placing them at the top of the standings of a very loaded region. The Conqs were picked 8th in the KJCCC Coaches Pre-Season Poll, and there is little doubt that they have proven many naysayers wrong this season.
