Wallace State- 25-8 (8-6 Conference) 

Wallace St defeated Bishop St 85-81 in overtime at the NJCAA South District Championship, becoming the first NJCAA D1 team to secure a spot in Hutch. Jimmie Williams spearheaded the Lions' victory over the #1-seeded Wildcats with 26 points and 8 rebounds. Williams earned MVP honors, amassing 101 points during the tournament, including a 48-point performance in the opening round, setting a modern-day record for the Lions.

Region 7 is set to be the second region to name its auto-qualifier as Chattanooga State faces off against Walters State, with a trip to Hutchinson, Kansas at stake. The tip-off is scheduled for 3:00 PM ET.

Over the next weekend, winners will be crowned in all 14 other districts. With Region 8 having the highest number of ranked teams entering the postseason, and with only a maximum of three teams qualifying for the national tournament from each region, competition is expected to be intense for securing the one guaranteed spot on Saturday.

At Large Watch

#6 Mineral Area, the highest-ranked team to lose in the postseason so far, will have to wait a week to see if they are selected as one of the eight at-large teams, alongside #25 College of Southern Idaho, who lost to #3 Salt Lake City. MAC's record stands at 29-3 (12-2 Conference), with two of its three losses coming from Moberly, including a 75-71 defeat at Mineral Area in the Region 16 Championship this past Saturday.

#25 College of Southern Idaho has a record of 23-9 (9-3 Conference).
