In the semifinals, SLCC squared off with another NJCAA power in #14 South Plains College out of Levelland, TX. The Bruins raced out to a 9-0 run, but could not keep the distance and the Texans made it a close game late. Jaquan Scott posted 14 points, while Andre Mulibea finished with 12 points.
The first game of the Shootout was a 119-67 win vs Justice College, who was a late fill-in for Central Arizona who had travel issues over the holidays. Salt Lake will return to Scenic West Athletic Conference play next week, facing off against the College of Southern Nevada on Wednesday.
