JUCO Alumni Take Home Player of the Week Awards

This past week, five former JUCO prospects were honored for their spectacular performances at the Division 1 level:

- Yaxel Lendeborg, Jr., F, UAB (Arizona Western) - AAC Player of the Week. Lendeborg led the Blazers to a pair of wins, averaging 17.0 points, 16.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 2.0 blocks, and 2.0 steals. In UAB’s overtime win over No. 20 Florida Atlantic on Thursday night, the junior scored 17 points and grabbed 21 rebounds, tied for the third-most in The American’s history. He followed that up with 17 points and 11 rebounds at Tulsa on Sunday.

- Don McHenry, Jr., G, Western Kentucky (Indian Hills CC) - Conference USA Player of the Week. McHenry finished with 20 points on 7-13 shooting from the field and a flawless 6-6 from the free-throw line as the Tops defeated first-place LA Tech, handing the Bulldogs their first home loss. He also tallied six rebounds, three assists, and a pair of steals. McHenry followed it up with a 24-point performance at Jax State, shooting 9-18 from the field and 2-5 from three-point range.

- Sincere Parker, Sr., G, St. Louis (Moberly) - Atlantic 10 Conference Player of the Week. Parker led the NCAA in total points last week with 67, averaging 33.5 points per game over two road games. He shot 22-of-33 (.667) from the field, 8-12 (.667) from 3-point range, and was perfect from the free-throw line (15-15).

- Marcus Hill, Jr., G, Bowling Green (Southern Union) - MAC Conference Player of the Week. Hill extended his 20-point game streak to a nation-leading nine straight, beginning the week with 27 points against Buffalo and following it up with 22 against Louisiana. He averaged 24.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game for the week.

- Vonterius Woolbright, Sr., G, Western Carolina (Lawson St.) - SoCon Conference Player of the Week. Woolbright tied the SoCon Hall of Famer Steph Curry’s record for the most player of the week selections in conference history, picking up his eighth honor of the season. #1 & #2 Face Off

This week, our Top 100 #1 6'10 Malique Ewen (South Plains) battled #2 6'10 Jeremiah Cherry (New Mexico JC) on Thursday in Levelland, TX. The Region 5 battle was won by the Texans, with Ewen dominating from start to finish. He tallied 32 points, 10 rebounds, and 6 assists in the 85-76 win. Cherry, a UNLV signee, finished with 10 points and 5 rebounds. We could likely see a rematch between the two as both teams are top contenders in the league standings. The Region 5 tournament will take place March 14-16 at Weatherford College, in Weatherford, TX.

Grullon and Glasgow Have BIG Nights!

This past week featured two incredible individual performances: Daytona State's Josue Grullon scored 41 points on 16-21 shooting, including 9-14 from three-point range, in a win over conference rival Indian River. Yavapai's Ray Glasgow also notched an efficient 41 points, going 15-23 from the field and 6-9 from three-point land in a 100-90 defeat to Pima.
