Two junior college post players in the 2015 class came off the board over the weekend. Ravonn Posey, a 6’8 forward out of Sheridan College in Wyoming, committed to Cal St. Bakersfield and Christian Kennedy, a 6’10 center out of Daytona State, committed to Lamar. Both players plan on signing in November.

Posey is a physical forward who brings toughness in the paint. He has done an excellent job of getting in better shape while at Sheridan and uses his body well in the low post. Posey has good hands and solid low post moves with his back to the basket. He is able to hold a seal in the low post due to his size and strength. Posey will only continue to improve throughout the season.

Kennedy moves very well for his size and is able to get up and down in transition. He has solid hands and runs/jumps well. He had some low and mid major offers along with high major interest. This is a good addition for new Lamar coach Tic Price. Kennedy will continue to develop his low post game this year at Daytona State and should be able to play significant minutes as soon as he arrives at Lamar.

Rozelle Nix, a 7’0 center at Pensacola JC, just finished up his official visit at South Carolina. Nix told JucoRecruiting.com that he enjoyed the visit, but said that he won’t be making a decision until after the season. He also said that he will not take any other official visits until the season ends, and that his first visit after the season will be at Pitt.
