Milestones

Congrats to Daytona State’s Josue Grullon who joined the 1,000-point club last week for the Falcons.  Grullon came in at #21 in our JucoRecruiting.com Top 100 for the class of 2024.  He is currently averaging 20.6 ppg and has Daytona at #8 in the final regular season poll.

Casper HC Tom Parks achieved victory #100 over the weekend as the Thunderbirds won over Eastern Wyoming.  Parks is in his first season as Head Coach at Casper, after a very successful run at State College of Florida, before the program was abruptly shut down last spring.

Final Poll Released

The NJCAA made the correct decision by adding another week to the poll voting for NJCAA D1, given that the postseason has been moved back a week due to the National Tournament being broadcast on ESPN+.  The final poll saw lots of change from the previous week and at large positions are up for grabs ahead of selection in a couple of weeks. There’s no doubt that the regional tournaments will provide dramatics for a lot of the teams in this week's poll.  According to sources, since the at-large births have been included in the field, no team that has had less than 20 NJCAA D1 wins has even been selected.  80% of the teams selected have had at least 22 NJCAA D1 wins.  Regions can have a maximum of 3 teams selected for the national tournament, and this week's poll has 5 teams from Region 8 (FL), 4 teams from Region 6 (KS), and 3 teams from Region 14 (East TX).  Barton finishes the regular season as #1, and the rest of the rankings can be seen here https://www.njcaa.org/sports/mbkb/rankings/DI/index
